Every day is a mental health day!
Dear Friends of the Dream,
Every day is a mental health day!
Recently, I attended my annual checkup at my Internist’s office and was extremely pleased to realize that along with screening my overall physical health, cardiac health, and various blood levels, the screening also included a component designed to assess my overall emotional well-being.
We have made incredible strides in acknowledging that our mental health is as important as our physical health. We have also started to chip away at stigma associated with these illnesses and have increased accessibility to mental health services.
Continuing this conversation is imperative in ensuring that individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety and other mental health issues will feel comfortable speaking out about their needs, asking for help and accessing beneficial mental health services.
Below please find two informative video clips from the WGN-TV Morning News, in which I discuss Depression, Anxiety and their treatments.
If you or someone you know is in need of support, please don’t hesitate to reach out for help.
Best Regards,
