I was inspired to make a music video to Michael Mahler & Alan Schmuckler’s beautiful song ‘Brighter Days.’ Immediately I knew I wanted to make a video about a young girl struggling with depression. I pitched a video idea to Mike and Alan in 2015 and they gave me their blessing. After a few drafts, I conceived the story for the video based on stories I have read and heard, including Rebecca’s, and filmed the video on the North Shore of Chicago working with a team from Chicago and New York. The video was released on 9/22/16 in honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
